<p>Google have been buying up the components required to build 10 Gigabit switches. I believe this has been well and truly confirmed by now.</p>

<li>Broadcom 20-port 10GE switch silicon (BCM56800) &amp; SFP+ based interconnect.</li>
<li>Google is building this to their exact needs, using non-standard solutions.</li>
<li>Google may be using about 5,000 ports per month</li>
</ul>
<p>Cisco cannot be happy about this.</p>
